Founey Caribbean Bar & Grill was built out of Haitian pride and Haitian cooking, by chef and owner Founey Thys. Not a concept. A kitchen that makes what her family makes.
Come in for breakfast at ten. Come in for griot at midnight on a Friday. Nothing here gets plated for a photograph — it gets plated for you.

Founey Caribbean Bar & Grill is at 6252 Pembroke Rd, Miramar, FL 33023, in Broward County, a few minutes from Miramar Parkway and I-95. There is free parking on site.
Haitian food. Entrees include griot, kabrit, den, poul, lambi and pwason. Stews include legume, lalo and bouyon. Lambi and red snapper are grilled over open charcoal. Breakfast is served from 10am: espagetti, ze ak bannann and mayi moulen. Entrees come simple, with plantains, or complete, with rice, cornmeal or millet.
Thursday through Saturday, 10am to midnight. Sunday through Tuesday, 10am to 8pm. Closed Wednesday.
